  • Cox has the worst inferior equipment. Because I need speed for per diem job, I was checking my speed via Ookla ( www.speedtest.net) I was paying for 100 mbp, and was getting 12 wifi, 50 plugged in. Of course they came out, 3 times. Listen to this,,, Repair man told me I had too much metal in my attic ! When i told him i had no problems with century link ( the most mbps was 30 ) he claimed it must be my computer ! I then bought my own modem and router, my speed is great now ! I urge all cox customers to test the speed you are paying for. Cox knows well that most people will never test their speed. They charge you to rent their modems/ routers which are useless. As soon as Century link get's higher speed. I will leave cox. Sadly, Cox is the only game in town with high speed.
