I went to Fink's Auto for an inspection and an oil change. My car failed the safety inspection in part due to a scratched windshield. There were other issues too. It passed the emissions test. When the guy came out and told me it failed the safety, he gave me an estimate for the needed repairs. Part of the estimate was for a windshield and wipers. I knew I could get the windshield and wipers much cheaper. He said if I got the repairs done elsewhere I would have to pay again for the inspection. I said I understood that.
I found a place that was much cheaper for the repairs (which included brakes and a ball joint). That's plain price shopping. My problem with Fink's is they knew they were going to fail me for the safety inspection due to the windshield, and went ahead with the emissions test. They then put the emissions sticker on the old windshield. So I had to pay for the emissions test twice. Plus they charged me for windshield wiper fluid. I've never been charged for windshield wiper fluid, and have some in my basement. It wasn't much, but that bogus charge is insulting.
Fink's was recommended to me. I'm writing this review so others might be more informed.
