  • This review is long 'over-due' (har har). Allyson was our midwife from October 2014 - May 2015 for our first child, a girl. My wife and I visited her unsure as to whether or not we were going to have a home birth. Allyson's knowledge and humility struck me immediately. She truly loves her line of work and cared deeply for my family. The level of care we received in the months leading up to our daughter's birth wildly exceeded my expectations. She strives to present (but not overwhelm) parents with all the information necessary to make their own health care decisions. The birth and labor was all in our home, and it seemed like only a matter of moments after Allyson said, "You are having a home birth, this baby is on it's way!" that we met our daughter. As first time parents we were nervous, but we had plenty of help! Allyson had a wonderful and capable assistant, and we also had a doula present (who I wish I would have hired sooner!) and a birthing tub technician there. Allyson's post-partum visits are so great. She taught me just how important it is for the mother to receive attention, care, and concern as well as the new infant. Mom's always seem to take second place to the new, cute baby, to the neglect of post-partum care for mom. Allyson helped us with laundry, food, and provided excellent referrals to other post-partum services. We are super blessed to know her and count her as a friend and medical professional. If we expect any new additions to our family, we will not hesitate to pick up the phone to call her.
