  • Window shopping is not one of my favorite things. Back in the day, you could actually window shop for things, but this is only in certain places in certain cities - and then perhaps only at certain times of year when the displays were changed out for something interesting. If you are actually shopping for windows, it is much, much worse. Champion is one of those names that you likely see about everywhere if you are in the market for windows. They send out flyers to everyone on your street. They advertise in the paper. They put "coupons" in the remodeling flyers. They have a booth at the remodeling shows. So we had them out. And their windows are not cheap, by any means. The one saving grace is that they do offer a lifetime warranty - on both parts and labor - and they have at least been around long enough that they will likely be there when you go to ask for service under said warranty. What I would suggest is not buying their windows at full price. Multiple times a year (maybe constantly) they run sales. Within those sales periods, they run other sales that are even better, such as "buy X, get Y free". Wait for those. Then be prepared to walk away, much as if you are car shopping. If you happen to be a previous customer, you can likely use this to your advantage and get the same pricing on a new batch of windows (hopefully your prior pricing was worth getting again). The windows themselves? Totally functional. They look nice and we can see through them. I don't know that we could ask for much more in a window.
