| - Speaking from a chefs perspective: Firstly it should be known that we were part of a medium sized group reservation, the restaurant wasn't busy otherwise, at around 4 pm. We had 3 protein options, I ordered the sirloin steak. I have to say I will not be coming back here anytime soon; the food was somewhat chewy and tough, cold as though it sat somewhere without heat for a while, and relatively bland. The service was pretty good though, it's the reason for the 3 star rating as opposed to 2. They regularly checked on us and promptly saw to our long wait time. Unfortunately, for a busy/expensive restaurant and location, great restaurant design and atmosphere, they do need to improve the food and the menu... most Japanese restaurants in AZ have the same menu ideas, its getting boring! American Japanese restaurants commonly 'over-Americanize' their menus, and I believe we need to open our collective palate to the traditional, and arguably correct way the food should be prepared.
