Showed up at 7pm on a Saturday night. We could see a guy with a guitar singing inside... one of my personal harbingers of doom. After I walked in, though, I was pretty relieved to hear the guy wasn't bad and the volume wasn't deafening. But the place was packed. So we sat outside with our drinks, trying to ignore the thumping music and screaming from the bars nearby, until some guy lit up a cigarette right next to us and we had to migrate inside. Yeah, I'm one of 'those' nonsmokers.
Then the weird vibes started. We parked at a recently vacated table and commenced reading/studying. I looked up and realized we were the only ones in there that didn't appear to be there for the musician, and everyone else in the place was completely silent. My fiance quietly murmured a few words to me at some point and it seemed like half the room turned around and glared at us. Cozy! Uh, this is a coffeeshop... right?
The hot chocolate was good, I want to go back and try their steamers. I also like that they serve food. But when I go back I think I'll check their calendar to make sure I'm not showing up during live music...
