  • The Welcome Diner is a welcome experience. Modern meets the past in this old school diner setting with an infusion of handcrafted mixed drinks using unusual ingredients (Creosote, anyone?) and delicious food. My friend and I grabbed two appetizers, including pulled pork french fries (they had a Jackfruit fries option!) and Octopus Masa Balls. Wow! They were kind of like hush puppies, and we giggled a lot about the name. I forget the name of my drink but it was like a ice smoothie with absinthe in it and was so yummy. I had a Big Jim burger on a biscuit smothered in gravy with cheese for $11. Huge! And different, and tasty! I'd love to come back and see how they progress and if the menu changes over time, which the waitress said it probably would.
