  • I'm not sure why the ratings are so high for this place. We did the Sherlock room and were pretty disappointed but maybe the other rooms are better. Or more likely, people reviewing haven't been to other better escape room places. First off, there is no warning that they will place you in a group with others. She takes my credit card, I sign, then she says we will be playing with another group of 5. Disappointed but knowing there are no refunds, we decided to try and make the best of it. My bad for not asking if we would be alone beforehand. We tried to be positive but the group played a different way than we wanted to. The 3 teens in the group would get parts of information and then just try to guess the rest through trial and error. I kept saying if we don't know the whole answer, then we need to find more clues, not guess. One man was just trying random combos on the final door lock from the moment we started, and a girl went as far as breaking open a chest instead of unlocking it with the combo. This ruins the game experience. The staff was inattentive during the game and didn't even say anything to them or encourage them to play correctly. Also, when we had to call for a hint we had to explain to her where we were at in the game, and what we needed. Shouldn't the game master be following along? Every other room we have done, we hit a hint button and they point us in the right direction. Both girls working there were detached and not very helpful or courteous. Not rude, just indifferent. The room itself had zero story line (boring), no real objective other than get out of the room, and not nearly enough stuff to do for 10 people. More suited for 4-6 people. Most of the puzzles were linear so we had to do them together. We could have done it with 2 people. One of the locks wouldn't open easily even with the right combo, although this is the one that eager teen broke open anyway. And one major puzzle was just a basic search for stuff in the room. Using one of the teens guessing skills, we were able to escape without actually even finishing the last puzzle. Granted I never spoke to the girl working there about our issues, but she didn't seem very interested in chatting when we were done. She was curt and brisk about getting us out of there.
