  • I thought I'd just clear up some of the misunderstandings in some of the less than accurate reviews on this page... First, to the person who suggested they need to keep their cupcakes in a refrigerated case? You don't do that with cupcakes. They will dry out. The science is simple, but if you just want another expert's opinion -- http://www.allthingscupcake.com/2009/05/11/cupcake-tip-1-keeping-cupcakes-fresh/ I've been to a lot of cupcake places across this country, in several different states. Even the world famous Georgetown Cupcakes (TV Show DC cupcakes) uses the exact same setup I see at Pixy Cakes. They aren't refrigerated. From all the cupcake businesses I've been to (about 12) I can honestly rate this one as really good. Besides which, whenever I have their cupcakes, they taste great and are fresh. I noticed some of the negative comments on this page come from people who are followers on facebook of other cupcake businesses, or who are themselves cupcake bakers from their homes. So it's actually sad to see such negativity from the community. This business definitely has not flamed any of their competitors, they are a positive influence in the community. Lastly, I'll say that to those complaining about the price, $3 a cupcake is average for any retail cupcake store across the country. Check out several competitors across the country and that's where the average price is. If you're going to bake your own at home, you'll definitely get them cheaper. If you're going to buy them at Walmart - ok, the price will match the quality and ingredients and flavor options. Also to the person who said they'd rather go to Yogurtland, I've been there too. They have great Yoghurt. But a standard cup of yoghurt will run you more than $3 that's for darn sure. So all in all, the cupcake is still a cheaper option for a treat, so your argument doesn't make a lot of sense! All in all this place has a great vibe, a pleasant atmosphere, and they make great tasting cupcakes and cakes.
