  • This place was very underwhelming after all of the great things I had heard about this location. I was recommended by a few people so when I saw a groupon for this location, I jumped at the opportunity. I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment and was greeted with a "hold on." by the receptionist. Not a hello, or a how are you, or even a "I'll be with you shortly, have a seat." from him. Very rude in my opinion. I understand you're busy, it was a Saturday after all, but that does not give you the right to treat customers like that and it certainly does not excuse it. He finally made eye contact with me and said "what can I do for you", also very rude. I told him I had an appointment and he checked me in. I was sitting down when a stylist walked up to him. I didn't pay much attention but I heard a whisper of "is this her" and I looked up as one of them looked away. I knew they were talking about me. I went back to my phone and was scrolling through notifications when I heard them giggling. I don't know what was said, but in any fashion, it is extremely rude to a.) talk about clients, b.) let them over hear you if you MUST talk about them, c.) throw judgmental looks in a place of business to your clients, and d.) TALK ABOUT CLIENTS. When I was finally acknowledged as a client and not as someone to gossip over, I didn't say anything as to not start a fight not worth getting into. I got in with a really quiet, reserved stylist. I could tell that she was shy and nervous so that kind of put me on edge. I picked up on her energy, and it wasn't fun. I would have loved to have been in the hands of a confident man or woman, because even if you don't know what you're doing, you're expected to act like it. First she sat me down and asked what I wanted to achieve. I told her how my bangs were growing out, and I just wanted them to look nice and not how I had been making them look lately, which is not cute. She brought me over to the washing station, and washed my hair. I tried making conversation with her, asking her questions about herself, but she didn't go beyond a straightforward answer to that question. I understand that all people don't get along, but it was still disappointing to be with someone who wasn't willing to have a civil conversation or make small talk, especially when that person is all in your business doing your hair. Let's get to the actual blowout: I had told her over all what I wanted, and she told me she could definitely make it work. She asked where I parted my hair, and I told her. She didn't get it quite right, and I told her and she ended up over correcting. I told her again, and she said "okay I'll be sure to fix that!" We moved on to my bangs, and I picked them out of my hair for her. She didn't ask for any references as to how I wanted them to look, and when I asked her if she'd like to see she said "no that's okay, I'm sure you can explain it just fine." Allllrighty then. She asked to put products in my hair and I happily obliged. I love the good smells that hair products contain! She ran a few products through my still damp hair and did a "rough dry" on my hair. She then started brushing it out and rolling it up on the round combs, like a lot of the pictures show. I relaxed and trusted her and the outcome of my hair. At the end of it all, I was not happy. She had managed to make the ends of my hair flip up and outwards, rather than down and framing my face like I had asked. The bangs were just mixed in with my hair, and she hadn't fixed the over corrected part whatsoever. I felt my hair as well, and the products in my hair made my hair feel like old, dead grass rather than the silky mane I was expecting. I told her about it all, and she just apologized, didn't offer to fix it all. Just gave me a "ohhh I'm sorry. The checkout desk is up there, he can help you with anything else you need." Gave me a friendly smile and just waited as I got out of her chair. She retreated to the back while I went back to the unwelcoming welcome desk to check out with the Grinch. I paid him, and after doing so I saw the first smile from him I'd seen up until that point. He asked me to review them on Yelp (hi! here is your review), and gave me my stylists business card. I walked outside, tore the business card in two, threw it away and drove home. Can't say I'll be returning, and as for you? Don't even bother.
