| - I admit it. I'm a Priceline Negotiator addict. Most of the time, I get some sick deals at sweet places like The Palomar or The Intercontinental, but sometimes I get a little greedy and like to see "how low" I can go. On my first business trip to Toronto, I risked it and let's just say it didn't turn up all spades.
My pleasant taxi driver dropped me off at Sutton Place after whisking me past many other lovely looking hotels. To put it mildly, the place looks like it's seen much better days. While everything is clean, it's definitely worn and has an air of, well, your Grandma's house. Dated furniture and feels like it used to have a lot of people roaming the halls who have since moved on.
Saying that, my room was upgraded to a suite with a balcony, though I did have to go through an odd locked hallway (think The Shining. Seriously) to find it all by its lonesome. But they have coffee and tea in-room and a nice large telly but that's it on the amenities.
While overall, my stay thus far has been pleasant I think I'll try some other places to rest my head when I'm next in Toronto. Because let's be honest, who doesn't like to get pampered? Or not feel they might wake up to two creepy twins chanting Red Rum.
