Dishonest business practices - Steer clear of this car wash!
I went in for a car wash at 11:45am on October 28th. I decided on the "Everything Wash" for $10. The attendant tried to upsell the monthly pass, but I told him that I wasn't interested. He then said that for only $14.95, I could get a one month pass. I agreed. When he gave me the bill to pay, it said that I was signing up for the ARM program and that I would be billed $24.95 per month. I told him that I did not want the monthly bill. He said that it was only for monthly customers, but that he was only charging me the one-time one month rate of $14.95. I refused to sign, but he kept saying that it was a one-time charge only. I crossed off all if the monthly pass info on the receipt and signed to pay. He assured me repeatedly that I would NOT get billed again.
He lied.
The next month I got billed on my credit card for $24.95.
I called the car wash, but for some reason my call was routed to their Lake Pleasant location. The woman (Carrie) on the phone explained that ALL plans are recurring. They don't sell a one-month plan. When I asked why the attendant lied to me, she closed up and said that I had to go online to cancel and that I would not be recieving a refund. She then said if I had any complaints I had to call the main office. Apparently, this happens all the time.
Needless to say I am frustrated and disappointed to that I was lied to by an employee who was obviously incentived to push their monthly plan. What are the odds that he is the only liar there? I'm not going to risk it again. There are plenty other car wash places in Phoenix.
