From the care I received in the ER on 12-24-12 to my admittance into hospital, tests, and surgery on 12-26-12...
I received TOP NOTCH FRIENDLY CARE.
I do not remember any names of the ER staff :( I was in severe upper abdominal pain :(
I had an ultra sound on my upper abdomen via the order put in by the ER. The ultrasound tech made me laugh and it hurt. But I guess I had been joking about a possible alien being in my pancreas area :) dang pain meds :)
I want to thank Dr.? in the ER for ordering a HIDA scan...I was admitted for an overnight stay (Holiday Eve) and the test was the next morning (Christmas Day :( )
I had larger than normal hospital room which had a large bathroom that even had a shower. It was clean and seemed new. The best part it was all my own. No sharing rooms at this hospital. I had never stayed in a hospital overnight and was DREADING it.
I found out my gallbladder function was less than 5% and surgery was scheduled for 12/26.
The liquid food was good. Vegetable broth etc. I had requested vegetarian options due to I do not eat much meat and the fact I did not want to strain my body and my gallbladder the day before surgery. :) they kept me stocked with tons of water, IV, and lots of "liquid food" without all the crazy sugar and salt.
The day after surgery (had toooo much pain stuff coming out of surgery and had a reaction, I do not do well with anesthesia and had to stay that night) I was able to each regular food! They gave me actually good black coffee, egg whites and some home style potatoes. All just a little salty, but I don't like salt.
Since it's YELP I thought I would review the food too LOL!
Rebecca and Lindsay the night staff in the hospital were AMAZING the first night. Whitney on the day hospital staff was super sweet. Then I got to see my angel Rebecca on my last night there. My surgeon Dr. Engle was kind and explained how the HIDA had showed the malfunction and reason why my gallbladder was hardening and dying.
Hubby could come and go as he pleased and it was wonderful for him not to be hassled, as my multiple night stay was unavoidable due to the Holiday and Dr./Surgeon scheduling. We live on the other side of the 215 so being 5-7 minutes from home and having two dogs it gave him the ability for me to rest and him to come and go back home as needed.
