  • If I could give negative 5 stars I would!!! This is by far the WORST insurance company I have ever had the displeasure to deal with. To sum up my long, tedious problem with this company, I signed up for insurance in January. I had to call THEM to inquire about making the first payment because I had not received any correspondence from them after 10 days. Paid my first premium, $260 in February. Received a letter saying my insurance start date was March 1, 2016. February 22nd I received the next premium notice that apparently covered March1-31. Wait what!!?? I thought I already paid for March??? I called them they said no your insurance started February 1st. Uhhh... The letter said start date MARCH 1st. By February 22nd when I made the call, I still had not received a doctor directory, plan information or insurance card!! In the end, all I wanted was my premium applied to March for the month of February because they made a mistake and I never knew coverage started. HPN insists that it was the Health Insurance Marketplace that made the mistake. The employee also told me that the Marketplace writes the initial letter on HPNs company letterhead(???) and that only they could rectify it. After being on the phone for 109 minutes(!!!!) Health insurance Marketplace says it was not their mistake, they DO NOT write anything on their company letterhead and there was nothing they could do for me. I have not paid my March premium yet, hoping this would be fixed before I did so. Surprise, surprise!! Have not heard a peep from HPN until today when I received a letter stating they would discontinue my coverage if a payment wasn't made. Well, they sure can be prompt when it comes to THEIR money can't they!!!??? I am counting the days until I can discontinue this coverage with them. I would caution you to stay far, far away from this greedy, shady company!!!!
