| - I am so thankful I switched to VWFW during my pregnancy. I am so grateful to the Midwife team at this location and thanks to them, had the Dream Team of a birthing experience. When you work with the Midwife team at VWFW you meet with a different midwife each time you visit the clinic so that by the time you give birth you have worked with each midwife. Then during labor you get the midwife that is on call at the hospital and you are familiar with each of them by that time. I could not have been more lucky to work with our favorites, Beth and Stacie(although all are great), during our baby's birth. This was our first baby and we are so lucky we went to this practice. We were so happy we changed from a local OB to this clinic. The midwife practice is very natural minded and encourage you to take the lead in planning your birthing experience. I wanted an all natural birth and although circumstances changed that day, (I ended up getting an epidural) I could not be happier with the outcome. I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed my birthing experience and wouldn't have changed a thing. I was in the best hands and I knew it. I had the support of the midwives and I felt 100% confident in the direction I was given. My mother and MIL were so impressed with the team at VWFW and my husband couldn't have been more pleased with the care we were given.
Fast forward to 7 days after I gave birth, I was following all my postpartum directions but started to experience severe bleeding. After some intense moments at home we decided to go to the hospital. Long story short, I was experiencing Postpartum Hemorrhaging. I was admitted into the hospital (Gilbert Mercy where I delivered) and met on-call OB Dr. Adams from the VWFW office. I had never worked with Dr. Adams since I was a Midwife patient but knowing she was part of the VWFV team put me right at ease. I also had the support of Midwife, Mina, who I had also not met prior because she works out of their Queen Creek office. Knowing I was under the care of the VWFW team put my worries at ease and once again, made my husband and I felt completely supported. I had to send my husband home to be with the baby, who was just 7 days old, but I knew I was going to be okay with these two wonderful ladies by my side. It makes me so emotional to think about this experience because although I had to be away from my brand new baby and I was severely bleeding, I knew everything was going to be okay thanks to these ladies (whom I had never met before mind you). They just make you feel so supported and secure even in the worst of times.
I cannot say enough good things about this VWFW practice and I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to feel confident in their birthing experience, be a part/take the lead in your birth plan and be supported by a team of women the entire time. I wouldn't give birth with any other practice!
