iHalo has taken Toronto by storm with their charcoal infused ice-cream and cone. I visited on a Tuesday late afternoon and it was decently busy with a line out the door. It took about 10-15 minutes in line to order.
The line could actually have moved much faster if they work out their logistics a bit better....What happens is that they would take cones out from the back of the store (maybe 8-10 at a time), and then they would run out of cones, and the guy had to go back again to get more, which takes time.
The soft serve here is not cheap at $6.50 (tax included), but not overly outrageous compared to places like Tsujiri, and they do offer Toronto's only charcoal infused ice-cream (for now).
I had the Ube-Nut flavour, which is Ube (purple) and Coconut (black) twist. They line the bottom of the cones with a white cream with some little crunchy puff pearls, which is a nice touch when you are finishing the cone. Both Ube and coconut flavours are there and are not overly sweet, which I like - some might find it disappointing. The biggest wow factor is most definitely the black/dark colour.
Overall, I think iHalo is worth trying at least once.
