  • Ask anyone at this Kay about the "nightmare" ring and I guarantee my wedding ring will jog some memories. Long story short, I turned my wedding ring into another Kay in the Valley after one of my 6 month inspections resulted in some loose diamonds on the wedding band. At that time, we also purchased another $1,500 matching band to go on the other side of my ring to signify our 10 year wedding anniversary. 2 weeks later as I slid it on my finger I noticed there was solder ALL over the diamonds that were loose on the band. I politely pointed out the mistake and insisted it be corrected. 3 days later, I was back to inspect my ring and again the solder was obvious. We did this 2 more times, each time the manager and employees getting more and more frustrated AT ME! Like I was being unreasonable for insisting that my ring be returned to me without solder all over the diamonds. Finally the manager ordered me a new band. I was content with that seeing how there seemed to be no saving my original band. I get the new band... And it was a different band. The explanation... Well it's as close as we could get. WHAT???? Its a Neil Lane white gold band with diamonds around it! How hard can it be?? So, being the calm person I strive to be, I decided to take my ring to another Kay in the Valley. The manager at the new Kay told me "either take the band we ordered you or do it yourself". ALL of this AFTER spending WELL OVER $100,000 at Kay Jewelers. (We like jewelry, lol). So, I called corporate and got myself all the way to the top where I spoke with a sweet lady who was very apologetic and ensures me this is NOT how Kay does business. After I said I refused to work with the two locations I had encountered, she explained how someone from the Henderson location would be in contact with me shortly and would put this whole nightmare to rest. A day later I received a call from the manager Mike (who was the exact breath of fresh air I so desperately needed at this point). He explained that he had already ordered me a whole new ring (engagement ring and the 2 bands to match) and apologized profusely for the whole situation. 1 week later, I did all that I could to hide back the tears. 6 months without a wedding ring and Mike made it all better in 9 days. He was so sweet, his employees were all sweet, and he was so incredibly helpful. So helpful and sweet that even though we had vowed to NEVER purchase anything from this company again, we walked out of the store with my brand new wedding ring set, a brand new wedding ring for my husband, a cute necklace for me and smiles on our faces. Mike and his employees completely restored our love of Kay Jewelers. We refuse to ever go to another Kay other than this one, even if we have to drive across the entire Valley to get there. Thank you to all the staff at the Sunset Mall Kay Jewelers!!!
