  • We visited Lagasse's Stadium during this year's NFL Divisional Playoffs; while some aspects of the place were solid, there were a few blemishes that kept the experience from leaving a flawless impression on us: ___________ + This venue is a definite upgrade over your local sports bar in terms of scope & scale. There are full-size TVs on almost every surface imaginable; it was mind-blowing being able to watch the playoffs unfold on such a large-scale setup. The surround sound makes you feel as though you're practically experiencing the game live! + Unsurprisingly, coming without a reservation prevented us from being seated (at least while the Packers/Cowboys game was on). That being said, we were more than welcome to scope out a spot to stand - and we found a portion of the balcony with a perfect view of the day's action. (From what I've read here on Yelp, it seems as though standing room may give you a better vantage point than plenty of the available seating options here!) I inquired about table availability shortly thereafter; we were told that the minimum spend for a seat at the bar was $75, pending availability. Having just had lunch, I didn't think that we had much of a chance of hitting a $75 minimum, so we were content to stand. After the game ended, however, the minimum spend dropped to $50 - before the minimum was abandoned entirely about an hour later! Sure, this could be categorized by some as simple supply & demand - but I thought that the flaky, opportunistic upselling was a bit of a shady tactic. ___________ The food here seems very hit-or-miss; after looking through some of the reviews here on Yelp, I'm less than inclined to try. + Beers were about $7-9 apiece, which is relatively standard, given the territory. I was able to enjoy a few drinks without racking up much of a tab at all. + I appreciated how the staff was quick to keep the (inevitable) rowdiness to a minimum. One Packers fan had himself a few too many drinks - leading him to try picking fights with other fans/throwing a bottle at one of the TVs. Needless to say, security was quick to put an end to his shenanigans! ___________ My biggest gripe about Lagasse's Stadium had to be the quality (or lack thereof) of the restroom facilities); the men's room was pretty untidy and smelled kinda rank. It was probably the most un-Palazzo-esque facility that we encountered throughout our two-night stay.
