| - My daughter fractured her thumb playing BBall. She's an athlete, so I was very selective in who I wanted to treat her. I'd was referred to Dr. Otten by Bishop Gorman's training team and another student athlete on her AAU team (who's brother is also an athlete). Dr. Otten has treated their family for years.
Unfortunately, he was completely booked and I had to see P.A. Lee. I must admit that I was disappointed and uneasy with her treatment plan of a splint, which happened to expose the area of the fracture.
Fortunately, the referring teammate happen to have an appointment with Dr. Otten that very day, showing him the picture I had of the X-ray. This resulted in his suggesting a treatment plan for a cast, which was more in line with my mother's intuition. Thank GOODNESS!!!
Takima, Dr. Otten's assistant was AMAZINGLY compassionate, exceeding my expectations with each visit. She even had to recast one that was a bit wonky AND unattractive, resulting in it also being uncomfortable (cast by another assistant). I was able to send Takima a picture of the ill shaped cast and she had us immediately back in the office.
I will confirm that the office is pretty much, ALWAYS packed, but hey... everyone wants to be seen by the BEST. Dr. Otten is just that! His bedside manner was a perfect fit for our family and I'd recommend him with full confidence!!!
I too will confirm that the front desk staff (1 of the Sarah's specifically) needs remedial customer service training.... but over all I was very pleased with our 6 week treatment plan. Too bad that Sarah (too bad I didn't get her last name) caused a loss of 1 star.
THANKS Dr. Otten and Takima!!!!
