| - This place is, in fact, my favorite, mostly unknown, incredibly under-rated place to eat in all of Phoenix. Every time I go there, the location just cracks me up. It's buried in the corner of the dingiest of min-malls, and it's got a name that doesn't make any sense: "Oodles of Noodles, Cherry Blossom Cafe." Someone needs to make some not-so tough editing decisions there. But once you step inside, it's like the coziest little cafe/restaurant you could ever ask for-- quaint, hardwood furniture, the strange smells of banana bread and sushi somehow mixing harmoniously in the air, and a wait staff that just glows with kindness and authenticity. It's because they know they've got something good to offer the world-- really delicious Asian pasta and rice dishes, super-tasty sushi, and the best miso soup I've ever had. I didn't even like miso soup before trying theirs! Don't like Asian? Their Italian pastas and seafood dishes are just amazing.
Look-- just go there, and ask for the banana bread. 'Cause you're at a place that serves sushi and fresh-baked banana bread, that's why.
