  • Hadn't been to Green Owl in about a year, was looking forward to a tasty if somewhat pricey meal, for a minor celebration with a couple of friends. We all found it disappointing. The nachos, which used to be copious and delicious, were in a smaller quantity, very stingy on the cheese, and without any salsa!!?? There is a small menu, maybe half a dozen entrees, and the first two (suggested by the friendly server) turned out to be out! Maybe better coordination between the kitchen and servers is needed, not to speak of keeping your dishes available (we were there quite early, were told there was a lunch rush--but that left plenty of time to restock). The pasta dish I did order was fairly tasteless, as were my friends' dishes. Madison's only vegan restaurant should be better--maybe they need some competition.
