| - The concept of this pop up is neat. However the store having to close early due to supply shortage is disappointing. Like others, I was also a bit annoyed that the ruby KitKat was sold out shortly after it was released, and yet it's supposed to be the pièce de résistance of the pop up. Was lining up outside today at 5:45PM, and even though the store is supposed to close at 8PM, they told us that you had to be in the line inside the store by 6 PM to be able to make your own KitKat. The store would remain open until 8 for those who wanted to just go in and buy the pre-made KitKat bars. Needless to say I wasn't going to make the 6PM cutoff, so I went straight into the store to check the place out.
I managed to get my hands on one of each of the three remaining limited edition flavours (mint cookie fudge, pretzel caramel pecan, and spicy pepper with cinnamon). At $7 + tax each, yes, it was overpriced, but I splurged as the staff said these would not be available in stores. At $4.75 + tax, you can purchase a bar or pack of smaller KitKats of other interesting flavours that would be or already are available in store.
Overall, a fun experience to be in the store if you love KitKat. You can watch the staff make those custom KitKat bars even if you don't get the chance to make one yourself. But unless you plan to get there very early, have 4 hours to wait in line and then wait for your custom bar to set, I recommend just visiting the store and buying one of the limited edition bars. I would like to mention that the staff are extremely friendly and professional. They are very patient and deserve a shout out!
