3/23/2017 AAACK! On a Thursday morning only self-checkout lanes were open. I was told that they will not have anyone staffing cash registers on weekdays. I left my cart full of merchandise and walked out of the store without making a purchase!! I will no longer be shopping at this Target nor any other store that does not offer staffed cash registers.
2/25/2017 Lack of service is the new hallmark of Target stores and this store is no exception. Trying to find any help in the store is a lost cause. The customer service counter is usually understaffed with long lines. The latest attempt to weasel out of customer service is the installation of 4 self-checkout lanes and then only staffing the regular cash registers with only ONE check out clerk during a peak shopping time on a Friday. I will never use the self-checkouts and many grocery stores that had installed them are now removing them (Fry's for example). On one of my visits 2 out the 4 self-checkout lanes were broken and techs were frantically trying to fix them. Ask the now defunct Fresh and Easy how the self-checkout system worked for them (it didn't).
I have been disappointed in the declining quality and variety of products, the increase in prices, and the lack of decent sales and clearances. Their weekly ad now features many products at full price and the clearance racks used to have 50-75% off regular prices now have products at 15-35% off (barely a decent sales price).
Overall, the lack of service barriers to the shopping experience has me abandoning Target and just ordering stuff that I used to buy there on Amazon where my purchase just shows up on my doorstep and I don't have to deal with the Target hassles.
