I took a pair of Uggs (the Baileys for those who are in the know) that had a tear (about an inch or so long at the toe). Had originally went to another cobbler who did a terrible job (literally sewed it with a thread and needle). Needless to say, the threads came off. Then came jolly Nick. He is a magician - my Bailey Uggs came back as good as new - literally! - with his use of invisible mending (seriously). The seam was not to be seen! He had apparently taking a bit of suede dust (from my Bailey Uggs) and sprinkled it across the seam (after sealing the tear with not too sure what). In addition, he had placed a super thin leather patch from the inside of the boot. Originally I was concerned that it`d affect the integrity of the boot (since the whole premise of Uggs are the sheep lining to keep your toes warm and fuzzy). At the same time, was concerned with abrasion (the leather patch irritating my toes). This was completely not the case. Was completely amazed and (relieved) that the patch was so thin (and much (if in fact all) of the Ugg sheep fur had been maintained at the toes. Nick is amazing and super talented. He`s the shoe cobbler of Alexander McQueen. Extremely creative - I never would`ve thought to use suede dust. I`ve got more shoe stories but thought to send this out to all those ladies out there (and men) that have Uggs in need of repair - send them to Nick. He`s the best.
