I spent a week here for work in a king-size one-bedroom (free upgrade on checkin). The room has a lot of amenities, like a full kitchen and a TV in the living room and bedroom. It also had a dining room table and a small kitchen table. So a lot of space for just one guy. Unfortunately the first weekend I was there was also Caribana, which meant the hotel was full of drunken party-goers until 6am Saturday night, and people were screaming in the streets and cars honking and general mardi gras type mayhem. The walls are surprisingly thin for a 20-storey concrete building, and the hallway door lets in a lot of noise from the hall. As well as pot smoke. Anyway, one night without sleep wasn't too bad. The whole town was having a party I didn't know about.
The rest of the nights were quiet, although the doors to other rooms on the floor make a lot of racket when they close. The price is pretty good considering how nice the area is. I didn't get to try the pool, but I checked out the exercise room, which is a bit cramped and could use some weights/resistance.
