| - The best thing I could have ever done for myself is join TruFusion! I am on the plus size side, zero experience in any yoga, pilates, barre, kettle bell, etc. classes and have never felt more at peace, physically challenged, accepted, and truly happy.
The instructors are so professional and know how to push you without making you feel inadequate or embarrassing you. They will come around to fix your posture and challenge you a bit more which I truly appreciate being a complete newbie. They are so well trained, so well educated, and so professional. I have tried some yoga classes at a 24 Hour Fitness and they're a joke. The instructors here are truly dedicated to their practice and their professionalism shows.
They offer a wide variety of classes and times to fit all sorts of hectic schedules. I go about 3 to 4 times a week and get a good variety of classes, yoga types, and instructors. If you look on their website, they do you the favor of noting difficulty levels and a brief summary so you can know what to expect. I stick to beginners for now but I hope to move up!
The facility is just beautiful. So modern and clean. Someone is always cleaning every few minutes so even though people sweat puddles, they are quick to mop up and get everything back in order. The cleaning staff truly does an amazing job. This place is spotless for having so many sweaty, barefooted people, lol. Just don't forget your stuff because they do charge to lend you yoga mats or towels. They provide bands and weights if needed for a class.
Super clean showers and lockers, a great little cafe that makes healthy, nutritious, and delicious foods. I recommend the peanut butter shake! The food isn't cheap but it's healthy and hits the spot after a class.
I haven't taken a class I did NOT enjoy. If you are unfamiliar with them, here are my recommendations:
Randall for yoga classes - he is so sweet, funny, makes yoga enjoyable, challenging, and fun. He is so motivational and helpful. I leave his class feeling amazing. Jennifer Knox is great for yoga too!
Amy Raven and Liz Steers for hot pilates - they're tough so you will break a sweat! These two ladies are also very sweet and supportive. I also recommend Costin's pilates class if you want to work your core. I find that his class is more focused on abs and core. I wouldn't be surprised if you develop a 6 pack quick with his classes, lol.
UPDATE: Be sure to also do Danielle and Kate's pilates classes. They kick your butt! Jenny's barre class is amazing as well. It uses the ballet bars mixed with pilates. Your legs will burn! Basically, every dang instructor here is beyond amazing. My suggestion is to give them all a try!
Martin - for when you think you are a bad ass and want an insanely tough work out. Martin is intimidating but he makes you dig deep and work hard. He is tough love and doesn't sugarcoat anything. Be sure to only go to his classes when you are feeling physically and mentally strong. He will call you out if you half ass your workouts but he will also be there to support you if you are giving it your all. I don't go to him as often because he scares me lol. But I truly respect him.
All other instructors are just as amazing, I just don't remember all their names but I haven't had a single bad experience with any. The only one I would say to avoid if you are a girl is Lawrence, who I believe is an owner. And the only reason I say that is because he is SO handsome and I couldn't focus in his class, LOL! But in all seriousness, he is a true professional, great instructor, and answered my emails when I first started and had questions.
The only bad experience I had with this place is the rude front desk girls who would treat me like crap and not give me proper membership knowledge. I wrote in a complaint about them and don't know if others did too or if it is a coincidence but the rude girls are gone and now the front desk staff is great. Thank you for making that change, TruFusion. It was a shame for a wonderful place to be represented by a bunch of brats. I love the front desk girls now!
The memberships are not cheap. I pay $50 a month with a corporate discount. However, I have realized that your mental and physical health is truly a worthy investment. I will be a member for life and cannot rave enough about this place. Do yourself a favor and try it! You'll love it too!
