  • Very unprofessional! I found Nicholas through his Facebook postings. So when I decided to purchase an investment property (originally a condo or townhouse), I contacted him through Facebook messaging to inquire whether he assisted people with these properties. He said he did and he set up a portal based on the parameters I gave him -- so far so good! I thought it odd that he didn't bother to try to have an ear-to-ear conversation with me as a new client, but it wasn't a big deal. It turned bad when I began requesting that he narrow my search results to townhomes only, because it makes a difference in how the mortgage is evaluated. His email in response to that request was basically him trying to correct me and telling me that townhomes and condos are evaluated the same by mortgage companies. So, I let that slide and let a couple of days pass, and then shot him another email asking if he can do a search specifically for PUD townhomes, where the homeowner owns the land where the house sits. Again, he sent me a condescending email in response where he tried to correct me, saying that I'd have to buy a single-family home in order to own the land. Since I own a PUD townhouse in another state where I own the land the house sits on, I know that's not true. It is possible that PUD townhomes are not common in Phoenix, and if that's the case, then we can have a conversation about that. But sometimes it's not what you say, but how you say it. Sending condescending emails to new customers, without even attempting to pick up the phone and have a conversation, is not good customer service. Definitely not a good way to market yourself. Thankfully, I got a referral from a good friend right before this all went down, and am working with her now.
