Me and my wife will not be coming to this place again. The location is great but the check-in process is the worst. It's so slow that it took nearly 10 minutes just to check-in.. and this was after waiting 30 minutes in a relatively short line. In addition, the fire alarm would go off in our room every time we took a shower. The bathroom has no fan so the steam would suffocate the alarm and trigger it.
To add to the complaint about wait times: after our stay was up we decided to stay one extra night so we got in line to do this. As before, the line moved slower than molasses and when it was our turn, it took another 10 minutes to extend it one day. The icing on the cake is when our new keycard would not work. We have been out all day and were exhausted... and couldn't get into our room. We had to wait in the "Keys and Mail" line to fix this and literally waited in line for a full hour. And just before it was our turn some jerk cut in line to go next and the lady working at the counter allowed this! I couldn't believe it. The lady at the counter said "sorry" but that does not make it right.
Later that night our keycard would not work AGAIN... so, we had to wait in line for nearly 45 minutes to get another new card. Why so long? Because people less patient than me would cut in line thinking that they are something special and the employees at the front desk repeatedly excused this behavior out of fear of offending them.
Forget this place and choose something else. They don't have enough people at the front desk and the people that are there are slow. I think their systems are outdated as well because they do WAY too much typing to do a routine check-in. Are they typing a PhD dissertation? Me and my wife have stayed at many hotels in the US and around the world and this is by far the worst in terms of service. We've never had to wait in lines for so long to do something as routine as checking in or re-issuing a keycard that does not work.
It would take Harrah's tremendous time, effort, and money to be able to win our business back and that of my friends and family who I will be steering away from this place.
