| - I can't believe I've lived in the East Valley for so long and not visited the Old-town Scottsdale Farmer's Market! If you want to support local and eat non-GMO or organic produce make sure you get to this market Saturday morning between 8:00am and 1:00pm! There are probably 4 different produce sections with the largest one being the one you see as you enter. I loved that they also provided shopping baskets and rolling baskets. The majority of the larger vendors accept credit card and of course cash. The other produce sellers offered a greater variety of greens and/or fruits. All the vendors seemed kind and helpful and you'll be sure to get modest sample tastes of a lot of fruits, breads, olive oils, sweets, honey, salsas, etc. One bread vendor (Mediterra Bakehouse) in particular was very kind and offered me some Italian bread at a very discounted price because the kind I wanted was all sold out! A friend told me about a French paté stand that I should visit but I couldn't seem to find it when I was there, or I could have been distracted by the large variety of vendors there! So if that tells you something about this market if it's your first time going it is go early in the morning when they first open, make sure you give yourself time, bring a reusable shopping bag, a shopping list, and of course your appetite!
