Whenever I walk past this place, I'm always surprised that there ISN'T the huge line that is customary of coffee shops around here (case in point: the Tim Hortons in the adjacent plaza that I also walk past every morning). This is because the baristas here are super efficient and the crowd of customers moves forward very smoothly. At the same time service has always been unfailingly friendly. I also love that despite the tiny space itself, the place is really nicely laid out: there are several tables in the corner as well as seats by the window so you can hangout and chat for a bit before leaving.
All this being said, in all honesty I really did not enjoy the coffee here. This is somewhat strange because I've been to several other shops which use their beans and liked the taste there. The taste of the brew here though...once I've had to throw away my cup after a few sips because I couldn't stomach how sour and bitter it was... The lattes are a lot better, but only after adding a ton of milk and sugar. Of course, this is just my personal opinion - I know that Pilot has quite a strong following so please don't judge me for my unsophisticated coffee tastebuds :P
The caffeine does work superbly though. I will vouch for that at least.
