  • We purchased our OneGuard Guardian plan (policy # 563158) on 10/12/17. In early June our AC unit went out. The only thing I am requesting of OneGuard is to pay for the labor they pay one of it's contractors to install the new compressor we needed. Here is what I sent to OneGuard: From: xxxxx Sent: Thursday, June 7, 2018 10:42 AM To: Utility Concierge concierge@oneguardhw.com Subject: xxxxxx AC I just called your service department and they said they would not cover the labor cost to cover the new compressor on my AC unit that went out Tuesday and I had repaired today. It is a little more than warm in Phoenix and had to get the work done ASAP. The part which cost about $1250 was covered under the manufacturers warranty. However, it was my understanding OneGuard would pay their stand rate for labor for the compressor replacement. I have written a check to the AC people for their labor, and would like to be reimbursed for what OneGuard would have paid for the labor cost for a 5 Ton AC compressor replacement. I have all the paper work work I can email you. Again, I am requesting reimbursement for only the labor part of the repair, not the parts (compressor). Thanks..... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Repose I Received Utility Concierge concierge@oneguardhw.com To:xxxx Jun 7 at 3:05 PM xxx, I just spoke to customer care and they said that the work is only covered if you go through OneGuard and use one of our contractors. Thank you. Laurie I Responded.... xxxx To:Utility Concierge Jun 7 at 4:30 PM Thanks, Laurie. Please bump this up a level or two as I really don't want to fight OneGuard on this issue. Silly me, I thought I was doing OneGuard a favorite by using the manufacture's warranty as the unit was installed (8-22-17} just before we purchased the house by the previous owner. I did not realize at the time it only covered the parts and not the labor. The approximate $1250 part was covered. The $1248 for labor was not covered. I am only asking OneGuard what they would have paid one of it's contractors and not the entire $1248.I understand you pay substantially less Thanks -------------------------------------------------------------------------- No Reply Received ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Therefore I sent this..... xxxx To:Utility Concierge Jun 12 at 9:08 AM Laurie, did you bump this up to another person last week? Thanks..... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- As of June 20 no response from OneGuard ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The only thing we are requesting is the labor amount they would have paid their contractor to replace the compressor. Not what we paid. I will say the first claim we made with OneGuard went nicely in December 2017. They could not repair the exhaust fan in my master bathroom and cashed us out. They also replaced a GFCI outlet in the kitchen and reconnected the socket to the eyeball trim in one of our can lights.
