  • Boom optical is a shop my boyfriend asked me to meet him at when he was looking for new frames to replace his broken ones. The end result was that I ended up being the one who bought a pair of sunglasses! I had gotten my new prescription a few weeks earlier, and I was in the market for a new pair of sunglasses. My plan was to buy them at the same place I got my prescription, but I decided to hold off. My multifocal prescription is a strong (and pricey) one, so I wanted to take a few days to psyche myself up for the gigantic purchase. Anyhow, when I got there, the sunglasses that I wanted, (Fany-Tom Ford) were there. I tried them on and absolutely loved them. Edwin looked at my prescription and offered me a discount on the price offered to me by my eye doctor's office. He showed me the different types of lenses available and made recommendations as well, all without being even a little bit 'pushy'. By the end of it, I felt comfortable enough to make the purchase. Edwin made the necessary measurements and adjustments, and advised that my glasses should be ready in about 2 weeks (again, bear in mind that I'm super blind and my prescription is really strong. The only people that can make my lenses without making them look like coke bottles are wizards, and possibly fairies). I was okay with this timeline, as my previous pair of sunglasses that I got elsewhere took 4 weeks! Unlike in that case, my expectations of when I would get my frames back were set, so it was all good. About a week and a day later, I got the call advising that my glasses were ready (earlier than expected-nice!). I went there the next day to get my sunglasses...and I love them. Edwin made a few more adjustments to make sure they were perfect. Multifocals can me tricky, but these were great. I highly recommend Boom optical for their great selection, speed/efficiency, and above all, their top notch customer service.
