| - Yet again on the vintage tip...
It will never cease to amaze me how much this area has been built up, since I've lived here. Badlands is another that offers some decent prices and worthwhile finds that led me to believe the person who owns it knows what they're doing, and have submitted a worthwhile addition to the ...genre? The fun and thought that goes into it all is clear in the meticulous interior and details like neon price tags with notes about each item, ie. "love the colour!"
The shop has a small area on the landing, with accessories galore, taking its cue largely from the 80s/90s- school of hot pink "fashion earrings" in their original package and a Disney World pin, complete with nouveau-90s Goofy. As much as I love looking through the classier, old-fashioned (and pricey) items of many other stores, it is these kind of items that speak to my sensibility.
The basement is where most of the clothes are located, and I truly had to restrain myself. The obviously ancient pink crimper rocked my world, though I couldn't tell if its intended purpose was ornamental (I can't imagine it would be very good for your hair...), and the Marc Jacobs Spaghetti-commemorative Provincetown t-shirt hit a nerve cuz I went there last summer, and I love spaghetti (and I bought it).
