Very sad to see how this restaurant has gone downhill. Hubby & I stopped in on Sat. 1/7/17 for prime rib. Noticed the parking lot was pretty empty, not a good sign. Had a drink in the bar and were planning to go to the dining room when one of the bartenders told us the dining room was closed (on a Sat. night!!) and we would have to eat in the bar area, we could either stay at our pub table (with a loud TV blaring over my head) or move to one of the tables in the seating area just off the bar which is what we did. The 2 bartenders were also the only 2 wait staff. I ordered a pinot grigio, was told the only white wines were chardonnay or prairie fume. I asked for a red and the waitress said "we have merlot." Ordered a glass along with water, she turned & left and my husband was not asked what he wanted. Waitress came back (no drinks) to take our order, we both ordered prime rib. I asked for a side of rice (listed on the menu) but was told they didn't have any rice so I chose a baked potato. My husband ordered hash browns. I also ordered a side salad. Waitress came back very quickly (still no drinks) and said I could have the salad bar at no extra cost, I said I didn't want the salad but she said it was the same price so that was my choice. Went into the freezing dining room (guess it was a good thing we weren't eating in there!), the salad bar had shredded lettuce with a few toppings. Got our meals very quickly along with my wine and water. My husband went up to the bar to ask for water but the 2 bartenders/waitresses were in a conversation and after a short time he gave up as he didn't want his meal to get cold. Both prime ribs had a lot of fat but very little flavor. No au just served with them. No bread for the table. My potato was inedible - probably because it was very old and had black on the potato (not the skin). My husband's hash browns were OK. We never saw our server until my hubby flagged her down for our check. Never got my water refilled (it was served in a highball glass so it wasn't a big glass of water), the dirty salad plate was never cleared away, no one asked how our meals were or if the prime rib was done as ordered, etc. A large group (12 or 14) came in after us and I heard their waitress/bartender say that "a waitress had called in sick so we're doing double duty." What? - a supper club has only 1 waitress scheduled for a Saturday night??? We will not be back and I won't be surprised if I soon read that this place has closed.
