I gave this place five stars because it was pretty damn good.
High points:
Lots of seating! You can go there and have a coffee and read your book without people staring at you.
It's local! I dont want to patronize a large conglomerate (read: Starbucks).
Their prices are good! Less than Phoenix and even less than Starbucks! I am used to paying more for local but not here... :)
Very environmentally frindly. Good to the environment at every turn!
Clean. Super clean at 3:00pm. Wow.
I just read they have free wifi and the last half hour is half off. Oh come on! You're killing me, Blackbird! Yet more reasons to come here!
Okay, some drawbacks:
I used to be in a wheelchair and that makes me notice that you have to get past a huge step to go through the front door and then something like three stairs with no railing inside. Not good. That is not to say that I noticed another door so perhaps that is handicap-accessible?
The coffee wasnt very strong. I like Starbucks (the huge conglomerate) because their coffee packs a punch. The regular coffee here did not.
FYI: Because it was my first time here (on a reference from a friend), I wasnt aware of this, so you know - if you order a regular coffee (not a fancy coffee like a latte that the barista makes), the barista will hand you an empty cup and the coffee is in a thermos thingy around the corner, as are the cream and lids. Did not know this. I am saving you from looking as dumb as I did.
