| - Whole Foods is like an Art Show with Food on display! All of the food, especially the produce looks so fresh and inviting. It's stacked so neatly that sometimes I just marvel at the food before I start shopping.
Whole foods has the largest variety I've seen under one roof. They have everything, from hard to find meats, seafood, juices, spices, breads, pastries, etc. I can easily do all of my shopping here, although I like to mix in some Trader Joe's as well.
It seems that the general opinion of WF is that it's "too expensive." I happen to respectfully disagree. First off, what are they comparing it to? Is it an equal comparison? Probably not in quality. WF sells a lot of natural and organic items. Most of which are more healthy, earth conscious and free of preservatives. If I have to pay a bit more for that, by all means, I'm glad to! A lot of the times though, since they buy organic in bulk, I find the produce here to be actually less expensive than at other stores. WF also offers their own "365 Brand", which is a reasonably priced alternative to other brands.
Aside from the kick-ass food, they also have a very extensive selection of beer, wine, coffee as well as other tasty bottled beverages. Next to the wine section is a bar/bistro where you can order a meal or have a cocktail before or after shopping. Genius!
The meat & seafood department is also top notch. I like to cook a lot at home and often like to ask my butcher questions or request a certain cut of meat. WF is one of the few grocers that actually have staff that know what they are talking about and are willing to help. How refreshing!
For any foodie, just having the option of being able to shop here is a real treat. Not to sound like a snob, but Whole Foods simply offers the best ingredients for those of us who strive for the best and care what we put in our bodies.
