Our company is here for a 2016 kickoff meeting. We are all staying at the Hilton. We were very hungry at 4:30 p.m., so wandered around the "village" looking for food. In my party were 4 people: 3 burly guys and me.
We arrived at the restaurant at 4:45 pm and were "greeted" by the owner who looked and acted as if we were bothering him by coming in before 5 pm. He said they weren't ready to serve dinner until 5 pm but that perhaps we could have an appetizer or soup first. We agreed.
It was an overly long dinner and I won't go into the details but will make a few observations about this place:
1. Service was slow. I actually had to get up myself and find a pitcher of water to refill water glasses at the table. Several employees must've seen me pouring water from their pitcher into my dinner mates' glasses but no one acknowledged it or apologized.
2. The clearing of plates from our table didn't happen until after the dishes had been sitting there for 15-20 minutes.
3. The food was delicious. We ordered penne with sausage, the bisque of the day, the cheese board, and roasted chicken with mashed potatoes. Dessert was fabulous: key lime pie, limoncello mascarpone, and Nutella cheesecake. Very tasty all around.
4. The owner/cook seemed condescending when we didn't order the most expensive food in the place. We stuck mainly with pasta and soup. The guys drank water. I had a glass of wine. No one ordered appetizers.
Summary: The food was delicious but the service and attitude need improvement.
