The parking at Toronto Airport makes me homicidal.
The good:
- There are always empty spaces.
- It's 'covered' so even though it's freezing in the winter, you don't have to shovel your car out of a snowbank when you get home.
The bad:
- The empty spaces are closer to my house than to the terminal.
- It's $140 a week to park there. Seriously. That's more than the increased metropass for a month!
- The signage in the parking garage... is non existent and confusing. Example: An arrow pointing "up" on a sign doesn't mean keep going straight. It actually means turn right and go up the ramp. The arrows pointing right mean go straight. I vomit at the thought of their fucked up wayfinding and want to send them some books on the subject.
- The exit is on the 4th level. If you ever need to park here you should write that down now, because I'm the only person that will tell you this critical piece of information. There are no signs that impart this detail.
- At least 2 of the only 5 payment machines are ALWAYS out of service and they are usually the only ones that take debit.
Would I park here again?
Unfortunately, yes. And now that I know all the secrets (like that the exit is on the 4th floor) I usually get in & out pretty fast. I am still horrifically offended by the price and the overall confusion of the structure, but it's the closest place to park and you don't have to take any shuttles, you just walk for forever to the terminal.
