We were here at 9am today, Sunday morning. It wasn't even that busy. This place a long time breakfast brunch eatery should now be called "The Rotten Egg". Place has gone down the tubes. Food was marginal and service was horrendous. Sat ousted on the patio with my partner. We waited 15 minutes at our table and no one came over to us. I finally got up and went inside to see if anyone was going to serve us. A portly girl overheard and said she was our server, but she had a big order to turn in. And how is that my fault? A simple greeting or acknowledgement that she was putting in a large order and would be over to our table in a couple of minutes would have been sufficient. Seemed like she was just hoping her 3 tables would just go away and disappear. No I am sorry for the delay or anything. She finally meandered to our table. No sense of urgency on her part. Took our order and said she would be right back with our iced teas. 8 minutes later we got our teas with no sugar or any condiments at the table. She said she would be right back. The ice was practically all melted by the time she came back. In the meantime we got up and took the sugar from an empty table. The next table over a couple with 2 young children didn't have much better luck. The daddy got up at least 3 times to get silverware, then salt and pepper then napkins. Really people!!!!! Didn't know the Good Egg was a serve yourself cafe. Might as well lose the servers and just order at a window like McDonalds. We had our food delivered by another woman. I asked her for ketchup and she said she would be right back. My potatoes were getting cold and I ended up going to another table and asked if I could borrow their ketchup. Ridiculous!!! The food was okay. I had eggs Benedict which used to be ver good was marginal at best. My partner ordered a wheat pancake which looked like it was cooked days before. Potatoes were mushy like baby food. We finished our breakfast if you can call it that. Went inside to the cashier to pay. Seemed to be very chaotic and unorganized. Looked like the older wrinkled up manager on duty with dirty blond stringy hair was frazzled. My partner let her know that the service was not good. The woman said nothing like she did not give a damn. No apology or sorry for our experience. She seemed very cranky and looked like she had partied a Bit much last night. How is that our problem. We will never dine at The Good Egg ever again. There are much better breakfast/brunch alternatives like Switch or The Daily Dose. Both are excellent choices. Shame on you Good Egg. Hire some employees who care about their jobs and customers. Warning dine here at your own risk. Dirty looking, sleepy, slow as molasses employees and food that is barely edible.
