  • One simple question would've saved me the embarrassment of a very rude stylist. "What brand of color do you currently use?" This one question when asked at scheduling would've made all the difference. Instead of an amazing experience, I ended up being completely humiliated by the stylist that I had an appointment with. I booked my appointment with the stylist via Facebook after an ad she placed on our local 411 group. I asked many questions about the color that I wanted to which I was assured could be done. Since my profile on Facebook shows my current hair color and because we were talking about color, when she said she could do the job...I assumed she could. So I booked an appointment for 3 weeks out because that was the earliest slot she had. I was so excited! When I arrived, I waited in the lobby until the stylist could come out to greet me. She took me back to her chair and I reminded her of our conversation and what I wanted to do, to which she replied..."This isn't possible, and your hair will fall out if I do this". Then she continued to berate me and make me feel bad about the product I was currently using. I WAS COMPLETELY HUMILIATED. She ushered me out the front door while continuing to tell me how "I" could remove it from my hair prior to coming back. She didn't offer to cut my hair nor did she offer alternatives. She simply ushered me out the door. First, let me say that I take very good care of my hair despite her opinion. It's one of my favorite things about me and I should know better not to trust it with just "anyone". I don't use bleach in it nor do I strip the color out more than once a year. Sometimes it's more like once per two years. I do occasionally add additional color, but I do not use the bleach that comes with coloring products. I have NEVER been asked about my coloring routing, nor have I ever been berated about it! Clearly, Madison should train stylists on manners. I'm not mentioning the stylist's name because I can't comment on whether or not she can actually do hair. This review is based on the policies, training, and procedures of Madison. I will never set foot in that place again, and won't recommend it to my friends. I am very thankful that I didn't allow that stylist to do my hair because I wouldn't want her to damage it. After 5 years of beautiful coloring experiences with my other stylist (at a different company)...I think I'll wait until my normal one comes back to the states for a new color.
