  • My stay at the GreenTree Hotel and suites here in Phoenix, Arizona was quite an interesting one. Only for one night and it was clearly an interesting one. It involve the cops, but it wasn't me. I think the lucky day to arrive here in Phoenix Arizona, or should I say night time. My arrival at at around 10:30 PM on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 was either a gift or curse. I noticed that this hotel offers airport shuttle service, so I called the hotel for a pick up from the airport when I arrive. I was informed that they could not leave the hotel at the present time so I was instructed to take a taxi cab and they will pay for it I shrugged my shoulders and went to go for a taxi cab at PHX airport. Upon arrival at the hotel I noticed that there was a lot of police cars in the immediate vicinity. I realize that that's probably why they could not leave the hotel, As they were on some sort of lockdown. I was booked here for one night, and this happened. It was kind of odd but it makes for an interesting story to tell yelp! and y'all of my experience. I chose this place to hotels.com and it had a very favorable rate for me, so I picked it. It was about $60 per night and that was freaking awesome! The overall experience here at the Greentree hotel and suites was quite lovely actually - minus the whole police thing. I just happened to arrive here on an off night. It happens! This hotel app reminded me of a mini Version of the Sheraton brand, since the room that I received was more or less like a Sheraton. Hey Green Tree hotel and suites property is located at 4234 S. 48th Street here in beautiful Phoenix, Arizona. Like many hotel properties in the industry, GreenTree hotel and suites accepts major credit cards, which is always a great thing, as well as cash. Since I was using the hotel's airport shuttle service, there wasn't a need to address parking. Although they have ample parking for guests, they also have awesome airport shuttle service too. I'm sure that they would pick up customers at the airport late at night, I just happened to be there on an off night, go figure. Once I got settled in for the night, the room seemed perfect and cozy. Definitely one to sleep in late the next morning, but I had a full itinerary up north in the Grand Canyon. It was what brought me to PHX in the first place and flying to Flagstaff was expensive! The check in service was very nice and expedient. I received the room 301 and saw that they have a fitness room within the property. For myself, I actually got up the next morning early and headed out for a run just to get my legs in gear after running 2 marathons on a single weekend on the east coast. Had to say, it went fairly nice! The room itself was very nice and aesthetically pleasing. I wish more of my hotel stays were like this and on the cheap too. We can't have it both ways, I guess! Everything worked properly and it was nice to be able to sleep in a nice comfortable bed for a blissful 7 1/2 hour sleep. The bed was pretty amazing and never thought I'd sleep that well ever again. Green Tree suites definitely proved me wrong, may need to ask them what kind of bed that they have. It's quite comfortable for a Queen/King bed! The room itself was definitely clean and well organized. Like I mentioned before, this place reminded me of a miniature version of a Sheraton, but at a very attractive room rate. The check out process was alright and the ride to the airport at 8am was super. The lady driver graciously dropped me off at the rental car complex, where I picked up my rental car for the weekend. My one night stay here at the Green Tree hotel and suites was quite nice. Wish I could have stayed more, but my time was dedicated with Sedona and the Grand Canyon up north. I would totally recommend this hotel property, if you are wanting a great hotel at budget friendly prices. 5 stars for price, 4 stars for service, and 5 stars for comfort and the room itself. Well worth it. Stay here. Oh, they have good wifi and the complimentary breakfast spread is pretty nice! Way better than just cereal and pastries from the other budget friendly hotel brands! Support local! A-
