BEWARE of Orangutan Home services, regardless of their frequent name changes.
We just paid $11,000 to a reputable contractor to replace our tile roof which Orangutan claimed to have put on new in 2015. They came out again in 2017 under warranty to "repair" the roof and bring it up to code.
In April 2018 we climbed up the ladder & eyeballed all of the following problems ourselves:
1) spots with tile & roofing paper, but NO PLYWOOD, 2) spots with tile & plywood but NO ROOFING PAPER, 3) valleys with metal only 1/2 way down, 4) MISSING FLASHING, 5) ROOFING PAPER 4" TOO SHORT to reach the edge of the roof, 6) BROKEN TILE, 7) RIDGE LINE improperly installed, and more.
All of these are code violations and would have been impossible if a "new" roof had been properly installed only 3 years earlier.
