This place was ok. I met a colleague here for lunch at his suggestion. I ordered a water - no ice, and I was surprised when the glass of water they brought me was warm. I don't mind drinking tap water, but I'm surprised they don't keep a pitcher in the fridge to keep it cold. The server never came around to refill my glass.
For my meal, I ordered the rice with shrimp and chicken without the chicken (I'm a pescatarian). The rice and beans were flavorful. The tortillas that came with it were bland and the cucumbers that came on the plate were bitter. My companion warned me that this was a place where once you get your food, the server doesn't come around again except to give you the check.
The ambiance felt cheap - cheap outdated decor that didn't feel welcoming. This is a place you definitely come to because you like the food.
It's a restaurant I wouldn't voluntarily select, but I'd go if a friend really want to go.
