| - This was a rather disappointing event.
Mac and Cheese is delicious, and inexpensive, but something I was looking forward to were many delicious vendors with unique ideas of Mac and Cheese. Entry was free (make sure you download the tickets to your phone because they probably need to keep track of numbers), there was a security check for bags.
The location of the Mac and Cheese Festival was nice (right at Ontario Place). There were strung lights over the bridge, and it was easy access. Washroom lineups are a little long, but manageable.
Food is purchased by a ticket system and the tickets are purchased in advance to lining up for food. Tickets come in groups of 10. 10 tickets for $15, if you purchase an additional 10 tickets, it's an additional $10. The benefits of this system is that a lot more time will be saved during the event and the food handlers are not touching cash. However, the negatives of this system is that you will have to calculate in advance which Mac and Cheese vendors you would like to try in order to use all of your tickets. For these reasons, we ended up using less than we purchased and just gave one of the tickets away to someone else.
Something i was disappointed in were the number of vendors for this event. The lines were rather long, and the main reason was because of the limited number of vendors. I did expect this to be more expensive than usual, but still wanted to give it a try. Some individuals were rather creative with Mac and Cheese, but many of the portions were super small, and taste-wise, was rather disappointing.
Although the truffle mac and cheese had small portions, i thought this was the best option there was because at least the mac and cheese was still warm and the line wasn't super long. It costed 3 tokens. We decided to leave after the long lineups, lack of vendors and the taste of the food.
