I've stayed at many Crowne Plaza's and was extremely excited about staying at a Crown Plaza downtown Cleveland, but this was by far the worst Crowne I've ever stayed in. I would've rather have stayed at a Holiday Inn.
Upon our check in we were greeted by a receptionist that seemed more into flirting with the guys that were staying with us. When I asked to confirm what time the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was open until on Saturday- she told me 5:30pm, and I asked if that was right, according to the RRHF website they were in summer hours open until 9:30pm. She had a little mocking attituded and insisted it was closing at 5:30pm. Nonetheless, I was correct, it was open until 9:30pm. I found this strange considering they were the "Featured hotel of RRHF" complete with memorabilia on the wall.
The lobby the whole time we were there had a permanent fish smell. The room was dirty and had some kind of mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. There was no pool there, so I wouldn't plan on going swimming. The A/C barely worked. The elevators took forever to come to you, at one point the door wouldnt even close on the elevator. The TV was extremely small and was a tube TV.
I wouldn't recommend staying at this Crowne Plaza. Try a Holiday Inn. Despite the girl that checked us in, we had wonderful customer service (that's why I gave 2 stars).
