Selected this hotel while driving from DC to Milwaukee for a move. Have two cats in tow, and this is one of only few cat friendly hotels. The pet fee is very inexpensive, only $10 per cat and another small cleaning fee/pet deposit.
The hotel is easy to find and the rooms are modernized and updated. I'm an IGH rewards member and I've stayed at Candlewood suites before in Washington State and other areas of Ohio. Candlewood suites are the best for road trips because of their DVD players and kitchenettes, so you can make mac n cheese and watch Harry Potter just like you would at home!
Two bad things about the room: the AC vent cover under the window was literally hanging off the hinges when we went into the room. It still worked, so no complaints, but the wires were exposed. Also, I had to sleep on the pull out couch. That was as comfortable as you'd expect, but when I went to get the linens from the closet, they were covered in a dust resembling dry wall and there was a small chunk of dry wall on the pillow. It was late and I was tired so I shook them out and used them. It just kind of proves that the linens weren't fresh and had probably been sitting in the closet for a long time.
Otherwise, I slept fine for the less than comfy pull out bed. Our cats acclimated very well! The only suggestion I'd make for a pet friendly hotel: have your beds on platforms so that small animals can't use under the bed as a hiding spot!
