| - Let me say, I do not give out 5 stars easily, but the experience I had with this LensCrafters will keep me coming back. First off, Pearle was booked a week out just to have an exam.
This location got me in the same afternoon with no trouble. I had just found out my vision insurance was expiring so it was imperative that I got my exam and glasses now instead of later. Jessica, who works the Optometrist's desk, was very polite and accommodating over the phone.
I arrived early around 3pm to fill out paperwork and begin looking for a frame. My appointment began at 3:45p, perfectly on time. I love punctual doctors, as many doctors seem to think that their time is of infinite value and yours is worthless. Not here! I was taken back do the light and eye pressure tests with Juan who was also very friendly and professional. You could tell he enjoys his work.
I saw Dr. O'Brian for the exam. She was very personable and thorough. What I like best is she didn't rush me. My eyes, as most do, require a moment to focus in between different correction choices and she did not rush me or get irritated if I asked to go back. I really appreciated that because I have had a few exams where I got rushed and ended up with a crappy prescription. It's the worst because of the time and cost involved, plus it will give you headaches if you get the wrong Rx lenses.
After finishing the exam, I began working with Katherine, who I could tell right off the bat was a people person. I could tell from the first moments of the interaction that she was helpful and her customer service skills were top notch. Being in the customer service field myself, I am always expecting great service from businesses I choose to patronize with my hard-earned money. Most of the time, especially since the economy took a dump, I am severely let down. Not in this case!
Katherine, not only took the time to help me find the right frames, take the needed measurements and make adjustments, but she also expertly adjusted my old frames which hadn't been right since I got them. I wish she had been the one to sell my old pair because they wouldn't have been falling off my face for the last year nearly every time I looked down! I didn't think they could actually be adjusted that well because the place that sold them to me couldn't seem to do any better. Don't ever go to Frame Fixer on Charleston, they are a rip off and their "take or leave it", family-owned business is exactly the type of experience I try to avoid...
My glasses were done almost exactly in an hour after Katherine took them back the lab for the lenses. I had wanted to have the premium anti-reflective coating but ended up opting to take only the warranty for about the same price instead due to my budget constraints.
When I left the store, I noticed something seemed wrong with the new glasses but figured it was just my tired eyes getting used to the new prescription. After I got all the way home, I realized upon further inspection, that the right lens was left with grind marks in it. I immediately called the store, as luck would have it Katherine answered and advised me to come right back so they could make it right even though they were getting ready to close.
They were even more busy when I returned but Katherine came right to me when she finished with the customer she had and said they would not only make it right, but also upgrade me to the premium A/R-coatrd lenses free of cost for my time and trouble.
I didn't even have to ask. That's what made this experience truly 5 stars for me. Mistakes happen, but this kind of amazing customer service more than makes up for it. They were not able to complete the glasses that evening as they were closing but they were done the next day as promised and they also through in a RayBan case for my old sunglasses for free. Mine was falling apart.
In all, everyone treated me very well at this store but Katherine definitely made the difference between a potentially bad experience and the awesome experience that I had, despite the issue with the lens. Lenscrafters, give this woman a raise!
