My son has played NYS soccer (he's in 9U now) for the last 3 seasons. The league is enabling 2 teams to cheat. These 2 teams say they have 2 different coaches and enough players to field 2 teams however, they have hidden their roster from the coaches ( other teams are obligated to show theirs) and make it hard to see which child plays on which team. They have also allowed them to have these 2 teams to have the same color, 3 seasons in a row. In addition, they have purchases extra jerseys to match theirs. This also to makes it difficult to tell if they're cheating. 3 seasons in a row they have received the same color jerseys (green) for both teams, so its not just a coincidence. There are of players on the team and they play on both teams. That is against the rules, to me. that is cheating. This also cheats the children as their child is missing out on game time because the same players play on both teams. The league is aware of it and has done nothing to fix it, though they said they would. I have a message from NYS last year when I brought it to their attention saying, it is not allowed. All of these kids are being cheated and this is setting a bad example for children that the rules do not apply to them. My son has played with this team for all 3 seasons and I will be pushing for a change of league. This is unacceptable and any level of sports but especially with kids. I would seek other leagues. NYS enables cheaters, even after there is clear proof.
