  • The best donuts in Vegas. CORRECTION: The best donuts in the WORLD. I mean, yeah ok - so maybe I haven't tried every donut joint in the world but I can say that I can't see anything being better than Pink Box. I just want to know how the hell they make such good donuts! What's the secret? What do they do? What's in these things? Hubby and I were out in the area for a late dinner and in a completely random (and yet obviously divine) act, I saw the name Pink Box Donuts as we were headed towards home. This was right around 11:30 at night so all I was hoping for was a glimpse of the shop. Imagine my surprise when I see people inside! It's open! At 11:30 at night! Yesssss. 24 hour donuts? Have I died and gone to fat kid heaven? We go inside and the shop itself is small - like super small. There are a few tables and chairs outside but the inside is pretty much the bare basics - donuts, display case, donuts, cash register, donuts. You get the picture. We decide to not be complete pigs and only order a half dozen (looking back, this was a rookie move cause these babies were so good we should have ordered AT LEAST a dozen). The ladies behind the counter were super friendly and helpful, pointing out practically every donut in the display case (again, we were rookies, people) and giving their opinions on each. We ended up getting a glazed cronut, maple cronut, pink sprinkle, choc sprinkle, bacon maple and a bavarian cream. Bonus donut? Yep! We were asking about this beauty with a churro on top of it and this awesome girl threw it in the box for free! The verdict? Perfection is all I can say. My biggest gripe with most donut joints is that I always feel like I can taste and/or feel the grease. These weren't greasy in the least bit. The density of the cake was on point. It was moist but not at all doughy. The glazed cronut was my personal favorite. Every single one was incredibly fresh and tasted like it had just been made. I love the uniqueness of all the different options and the fact that it just seems like a donut shop - pure and simple. No bagels, no pastries, no cookies, none of that stuff. The employees, like I said, were super cool and put up with our indecisiveness - I swear it took us 10 minutes to decide on 6 donuts. I'm sure we were annoying but they took it all in stride. My bottom line is that Pink Box Donuts is everything it's cracked up to be. And then some. I'm quite certain I can't go to another donut shop. In the world. Ever.
