I purchased a product, product didn't work, Big 5 gave me a refund. That isn't the issue. How the manager handled this and his integrity is the real issue.
I purchased a red/green dot sight for a firearm. I got it home and the green worked but the red did not. After a couple of smacks the red dot flickered on. That signals a bad connection somewhere and I returned it.
While conducting the return, the manager put a battery in the optic, turned it on, and said it worked. He then in a passive aggressive way accused me of changing my mind and that being the real reason for the return. He actually put that on my return receipt as well. He said he was glad that he didn't treat it as a defect and returned the item to the shelf.
Here's my issue. Red dots are purchased for a number of reasons, often for defensive firearms. That scumbag didn't want to acknowledge a defective product and put an item on the shelf that could potentially be problematic for the end user when their life depends on it. Maybe I'm being dramatic, but still a big no-no.
Sure I smacked the optic into working, but not working well. I ponder how well that optic will perform under recoil.
I've been a Big 5 customer for years and I'll continue shopping there at times.....but not this store.
